International Women’s Day debate
Speaking during a Parliamentary debate on International Women’s Day, Eleanor Laing pays tribute to the work of UN Women - the United Nations entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women.
Mrs Laing: I simply want to ask my hon. Friend to pay tribute to the work of the UN Women agency, whose inception we celebrated last year, on the 100th anniversary of international women’s day?
Lynne Featherstone: I thank my hon. Friend for reminding me to pay tribute to UN Women. Our country is one of the biggest sponsors and supporters of that organisation.
