Eleanor Laing becomes real life entrepreneur champion
Epping Forest MP Eleanor Laing has become a real life Entrepreneur Champion as part of a campaign by Essex FSB (Federation of Small Businesses).
South West Essex FSB branch vice-chairman Alan Jefcoate said: “Eleanor Laing has been a strong supporter of small businesses in her constituency and has worked with Essex FSB on a number of campaigns and projects so we are delighted that she has now agreed to become a Real Life Entrepreneur Champion.
“In that role she is committing to listen to the concerns of Real Life Entrepreneurs and champion their cause, representing the interests of Real Life Entrepreneurs on a national and local level, recognising the many thousands of hardworking entrepreneurs that support the UK economy and supporting the FSB in its endeavours to get the best deal for Real Life Entrepreneurs.
"We look forward to working with her to achieve these objectives to support the 68,000 small businesses in the county.”
Mrs Laing said: “I have regular contact with the business community of Epping Forest and welcome invitations to visit local firms as I fully recognise the important role that SMEs have in revitalising the UK economy.
“Essex FSB has a well deserved reputation for the tenacity of its support for small businesses in the county and we have worked together on some very successful campaigns which have brought benefits for local business people.
“The most recent has been the work done to launch the OneShopsLocal scheme to support independent retailers across the Epping Forest district.
“I am pleased to again publicly demonstrate my commitment to the entrepreneurs who create economic wealth and jobs in our county by becoming a Real Life Entrepreneur Champion for Essex FSB.”
The FSB represents more than 200,000 business people across the United Kingdom and is the largest single organisation representing business interests in the country.
The South West Essex Branch of the FSB represents the interest of small businesses in postcode areas CM13 to CM16, SS17, RM1 to RM20, and IG1 to IG11 - which includes Epping Forest, Brentwood, Havering, Redbridge and Thurrock councils.
