Eleanor Laing joined local County Councillors at the re-opening of Allnutts Stores Post Office this morning. County Councillors John Knapman, Valerie Metcalfe and Anthony Jackson were instrumental in persuading Essex County Council to help to re-open the Post Office.

The Post Office at Allnutts Stores is the latest branch closed down by Post Office Limited that has reopened thanks to the Essex County Council post office initiative.

Eleanor Laing said:
"I am very pleased to celebrate the re-opening of this much-needed post office. Local people depend on the service they get here. It is an important part of the local community and people depend on their visits to the post office for social contact as well as for their practical needs. Essex County Council have done very well to bring this vital service back to the community."
