Business Fair

13th April 2017

Eleanor Laing paid tribute to the district’s “thriving” businesses and entrepreneurs when she opened the Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce Business Fair.

Dozens of businesses were represented at the event held at Theydon Bois Village Hall on Wednesday.

Businesses manned stands in the main hall while business-related presentations were given throughout the day.

Among the speakers were Epping Forest District Council cabinet member John Philip, who has responsibility for the District Local Plan, and Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex Jane Gardner.

Mrs Laing, who is Patron of Epping Forest Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s really important not just to have individual businesses thriving but to bring businesses together to exchange ideas.”

Mrs Laing praised the Chamber of Commerce and president Heather Thirtle for her work leading the organisation.

Mrs Laing said: “It’s incredible to have such a concentration of vibrant businesses, entrepreneurs, hard-working companies and brilliant ideas.

“I thank the Chamber of Commerce for the inspiration to put on this event and thank Heather for all the hard work that she has put into making the day such a success.

“The Chamber of Commerce is a brilliant organisation.”
