Shop Local

16th June 2020

Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing is encouraging people to 'shop local' now that non-essential shops are able to re-open following the COVID-19 lockdown.

Dame Eleanor, who is a keen supporter of the annual Small Business Saturday initiative which highlights small businesses, said: “I am delighted that all shops are now able to open in Loughton, Epping, Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Abbey and Theydon Bois and the surrounding area.

“The pandemic has had a huge effect on everyone and I believe it is vital that we support our local businesses and high streets by making sure we get out and shop.”

She added: “It is, of course, imperative that we keep the virus under control and that is why we must adhere to strict social distancing guidelines when out and about.”

“This is the way to start our economic recovery while continuing to protect people from the dangers of the virus.”
